My exam piece is going to focus on the effect of sunlight on a scene and on an individual, I aim to encompass both architecture and portraiture/fashion photography. I have found that these two areas of photography are both enjoyable and something I believe I can do effectively. I want my work to be aesthetically pleasing but to also to break some of the rules of photography to effectively create a striking photograph. I have decided to shoot in the older areas of my city, Nottingham, but to focus on more modern clothing to create contrast within the composition.
My focus on the sun will be based on the changing lighting within an environment, dependent on the amount of sunlight and the creation of shadows. I am interested in the changes that sun can make to the way we see both architecture and a model's features.
Areas of Nottingham:
I have collected some images of areas around Nottingham that I think may work well for my project, by doing this I have become more aware of areas that I may not have thought about before. From this research, I have planned to do a photo shoot in which I find these specific areas and decide if they are appropriate for my project and if there is enough space to photograph in. I also aim to find out how the sun falls on these areas and again, decide if they are appropriate for my project.
